What is the Seasons Birthday Club?

If someone in your life has let you know that they are a member of the club, here is what they are telling you:

• they would prefer that you not bring new gifts to their child's party
• if you would like to bring something for the birthday child to unwrap, they welcome toys or other gifts that are pre-owned or otherwise free
• they honor your feelings of generosity towards their child and encourage you to make a donation to The Seasons Way in at least the amount you would have spent on a gift
  
• Please bring your donation of cash or check made out to "The Seasons Way" to the party. There will be a pretty basket at the party with a sign on it that says "Seasons Birthday Club." Please put your donation in this basket. Feel free to include it with a card, if you like.
• If you are unable to attend the party, but would still like to contribute, please make the contributions directly to the family holding the party. We should have a mailing address soon.

Why The Seasons Birthday Club?

The Seasons Birthday Club is a way of honoring a child's birth. It may feel a little un-traditional, but it gives everyone participating in a birthday a way of nurturing one of the things that is most important in a child's life: their school, their community.

Many of us parents have been noticing that our children have more than enough toys. Some of us also notice that many presents of toys on Birthdays can overwhelm children. We end up feeling as if it is impossible for our children to honor those gifts.

We're excited about the possibility that your gift to our child can nourish something so important for our family, for the community and for future families. We love the idea that you can help us begin contribute to our children's legacy!

If there is something that you'd really love to give the birthday child or you would rather not make a donation to The Seasons Way, please, by all means follow your heart. The club is a way of expressing preferences, not hampering your gift-giving. Your participation is entirely optional. We love and honor you and your relationship with our child.
